With all the news coverage and safety measures in place, you have no doubt noticed that things are a little different around here. Over the past several weeks, everyone’s schedules and normal routines have been thrown off because of COVID-19, and your dentist in Westhampton is no different. At Beach Dental, we’ve had to temporarily close our doors in order to help slow the spread of this virus, but that doesn’t mean we’ve been sitting around doing nothing. Here is how our team has spent their time away from the office.
Dr. Gersten, Dr. Parli, and Family
Dr. Gersten and Dr. Parli are enjoying spending time together with both of their kids, Bennett and Jackson. They are happy to have Jackson home from his sophomore year at the University of Pennsylvania. They are all taking turns working out at home on their Peleton and walking their dog Pookie down by the Shinnecock Bay and out at the Hamptons beaches.
At home, they are watching The Goldbergs, Everyone Hates Chris, and Fresh Off The Boat. They especially like family shows that take place in the 80s and 90s. The family also participated in a clean-up of the Remsenburg-Speonk area around the office to help keep the shores clean. It looks amazing, and we can’t wait to welcome patients back to our practice.
Our Team Members
While out of the office, we’ve been using our time to be productive as well as having a little bit of fun with loved ones. Kathy, for instance, is keeping busy with projects around the house, getting her garden ready, cooking everyone’s favorite meals, and painting her whole house! When not playing with the cat and getting fresh air, Maggie and her husband are watching a lot of Netflix and Hulu.
Lisa is getting ready to welcome another grandchild to the world in June, which means she’s preparing the house for another baby. Her whole family is all working on the garden, and she is enjoying delicious meals every day because her son-in-law is a chef. Julia is keeping her young son engaged in the world around him with long daily walks, where they have question and answer sessions about everything they see. She, her husband, and son often walk 4 miles a day!
Some of our team members have been donating their time to help the community during the COVID-19 crisis. Christina is volunteering daily to help get meals out to needy students. Julia is also volunteering at food drives. Loading the food onto the buses every day is a lot of work, we’re really proud of them for giving back to those most in need during this time.
After COVID-19
Whenever the time comes for us to return to the office, you can bet that our team will be more than ready to see you again and go above and beyond to make sure your smile is healthy and strong. Hopefully we can welcome you into our office soon! Until then, we hope you and your loved ones stay healthy and safe.
About the Practice
Although temporarily closed for all non-essential dental work, Beach Dental is still available for emergency patients only. Dr. Jason Parli and Dr. Alexis Gersten are proud to help those experiencing dental pain or discomfort. As updates come from the state government and dental associations, we’ll update our website to let patients know when we will reopen.
