The warm sun, the sound of crashing waves, the gritty sand between your toes—there’s no place like the beach in the summertime. As you sit in a chair, you let out a sigh of relaxation. The moment is so perfect that you want to capture it with a selfie with your genuine, content smile.
But are your teeth ready for this? Could your imperfect teeth keep you from enjoying this picture-perfect scene? Do you want to know the secret to having a beach-ready smile? Veneers can help you keep your focus on this moment at the beach, not on your appearance.
What Are Veneers?
Veneers are tiny, thin ceramic sheets that are attached to the front of teeth to hide flaws, including discoloration, misshapen teeth, gaps, and chips. These coverings are fabricated to look exactly like tooth enamel, so a smile with veneers appears naturally gorgeous and immaculate.
Benefits of Veneers Over Other Treatments
Although veneers tend to be more expensive than teeth whitening and cosmetic bonding, this treatment has many advantages that others don’t. For instance, veneers are exceptionally durable, which means that you can trust your smile to endure quite a bit. Additionally, veneers tend to last significantly longer than bonding. As a result, you can expect your veneers to continue looking great many summers from now!
If your teeth are only yellowed, professional teeth whitening may be the right choice to make. However, any number of other little imperfections can make veneers well worth the investment.
Veneers Process
Before you plan your beach vacation with your veneers in mind, you need to be aware of the time commitment involved in the process. At your consultation, after you and your dentist have agreed to move forward with veneers, they will remove a small layer of enamel from the front surface of your teeth. Then, they will take impressions of them and put temporary veneers over your teeth.
At the dental lab, technicians will create custom veneers specifically for your unique mouth. After the veneers are finished—usually a few weeks later—you will return to your dentist’s office to have the permanent veneers bonded on your teeth.
Needless to say, if you want to have a beach-ready smile in time for your trip, you need to plan ahead!
Veneers may not be the only way to get ready for the beach, but you can smile for selfies without hesitation when you have perfect teeth, allowing you to remember the fun and easy times you enjoyed this summer!
